Online Dating now the trend for South Asian Singles

South Asians are now looking at online dating sites as opposed to matrimonials to find their partners. According to an online poll conducted by kamaconnection.com a leading South Asian dating website, 71 percent of the members surveyed opted for online dating as opposed to their parents setting them up.

According to Samir Bajaj, owner of  kamaconnection.com, this trend is here to stay. "Matrimonial sites are soon going to be a thing of the past, since young South Asian professionals want to take matters in to their own hands and find life partners." This he says is in no way a sign of disrespect towards their parents, but a sign of the times.

Dating, in general, is no longer looked down upon in the South Asian community and with the coming of the Internet, it has become a lot easier for like-minded people to connect. http://www.Kamaconnection.com considers the UK market a leader in this trend, since almost half of its membership base is comprised of UK members and the rest being divided up between the rest of the world. The concentration of South Asians on in the UK is much higher then it is in any other part of the world and the Asians there have assimilated quite well into the Western way of living
