Speed Dating - Lavalife and FastLife Announce Partnership To Host Invitation Only Events for North American Singles

Men, you may have less than eight minutes before a woman decides if she wants a second date. A recent poll of more than 18,000 singles conducted by leading online dating service Lavalife and upscale speed dating service FastLife, found that 64% of single women decide if a man is worth a second date in less than eight minutes.

The singles business moves at equally high speeds, and Lavalife and FastLife announced today that the companies have joined up to create a unique series of singles events in North America, to give singles yet another way to meet and connect.

Uniquely, this series of events are by invitation only. Guests are invited to personalized events that match their profile, ensuring a match rate of over 90%, compared with the industry average of approximately 60%. Participants meet at a chic downtown lounge where they chat to members of the opposite sex in a series of eight-minute dates. Complimentary drinks throughout the event and gourmet hors d'oeuvres complete the premium experience. At the end of the night, guests decide who they would like to see again, and details are exchanged if the interest is mutual.

FastLife also hosts wine tastings, cocktail making and salsa dancing events, as well as ultra premium events for foodies, creating specialized environments for singles to meet people that share their interests. What's more, the most popular speed daters will be invited to exclusive "Elite" events where they are guaranteed to meet the creme de la creme of the singles world.

"Our members use Lavalife to meet other like-minded singles who share their interests," said Lori Miller, Lavalife's singles and dating expert. "We are excited to work with FastLife to create a new series of singles events, each customized for singles to meet at least 10 new potential dates."

Men and women are equally fickle with their dating decisions with 68% of single men sizing up a woman's potential in less than 8 minutes. What's more, 32% of the single men polled decide on a second date within eight seconds compared with 25% of women, while 33% of single men and 35% of single women take up to an hour or more.
