Mobile Phone Dating Service Launches in North America

One of the leading online dating services with more than two million active members nationwide, have launched a new service called DateMobile, which is a cross-platform mobile dating service offered throughout North America. DateMobile, which was created by Date.com in association with Plutolife, the worlds premier mobile social networking service provider, is available through most cell phone carriers to both members and non-members of Date.com.

"The creation of DateMobile is a natural extension of Date.com's proven commitment to providing the best dating products for our customers," said Meir Strahlberg, CEO of Date.com. "The allure of DateMobile is that it is accessible anytime, anywhere, and to anyone with a cell phone. With summer upon us, it is the perfect time to launch a product that provides romance seekers with an opportunity to search and find dates while on vacation, and away from their computers. We were encouraged by the tremendous response from Date.com members, who were able to pre-register before todays official launch, and we have been hearing very positive feedback from the new members who have been signing up and finding success through DateMobile.

During the regular Date.com signup process, members are able to sign up for DateMobile. DateMobile members can browse profiles, and view suggested matches sent from DateMobile's database. They can text, flirt and chat with thousands of other singles directly from their mobile phone.

On most major cell phone carriers, DateMobile can be accessed by either texting the word "DATE" to 74444 or by signing up at www.Date.com. It is free to send a message to other DateMobile members, but costs $.50 to receive text messages.

"DateMobile represents Plutolife's commitment to producing proven, mass marketable mobile community solutions for our online dating and social networking partners," said Erik Neraal, CEO of Plutolife. "With DateMobile, Date.com will be able to tap into new and fast-maturing mobile market segments while increasing revenue from their current membership base. We look forward to a successful partnership."

The launch of DateMobile on an SMS platform is the first in a series of mobile initiatives from Date.com, which will shortly include a WAP enabled platform. DateMobile follows on the heels of the company's recent acquisition of Matchmaker.com. "Matchmaker" is being provided the DateMobile platform via a "white label" agreement that is incorporated with the shared technical platform it uses for its online dating technology.
